See you at the Con?

Will we be seeing you at our performance at the Con on Friday, the 4th of September? We’ll be playing some of our Ady favourites, including Holst, Gesualdo, Brioschi, and of course Funky Town and Michael Jackson’s Thriller (Moonwalk will not be provided). Just a quick plug for the Brisbane Phil.

The Brisbane Philharmonic are holding a concert this Saturday, the 14th of March, at St Peter’s College Performing Arts Centre, Indooroopilly, starting at 7:30pm. The programme will include works by Rimsky-Korsakov, de Falla, and Bizet. You can find more about the concert here.

The Monte Carlo Dilemma

The Ady Ensemble is getting everything ready as it approaches its first rehearsal later this week. With lots still to do, we were reminded of an issue that the ensemble had to address some time ago, and which has resulted in some serious ongoing experimentation undertaken on behalf of its members. CPE Bach: my life as a transformer (of music)

“Old and New” a great success!

Congratulations to Thomas Allely for his superb performance last night. Thomas provided an interesting and varied program of music for tuba, which was well received by the audience in attendance.The concert was held at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, and included a  programme of works by JS Bach, Gorecki, Hindemith and Szentpali, with the Ady Ensemble String Quartet



More concerts on today with the Amadeus Orchestra, Corda Spiritus, and the BPO!

If there wasn’t enough going on today around town involving past and present members of the Ady Ensemble, then here’s another. The Amadeus Orchestra will be playing three sets in the Queen Street Mall: one at 11am (better get there quick!), 12pm, and 1pm. …and don’t forget the Corda Spiritus and Brisbane Philarmonic Orchestra concerts



This weekend

Several past and current members of the Ady Ensemble will be involved in numerous concerts around Brisbane this weekend. Tomorrow, Saturday the 19th of July, the Sinfonia of St Andrew’s will join forces with the Brisbane Concert Choir to undertake another of their ‘from scratch’ concerts, this time performing Haydn’s oratorio, The Creation (Die Schopfung).
