A little bit of silliness from the other week.

We resuscitated one of our earliest (& cheesiest) arrangements the other week, as part of our performance at the Queensland Con.: Le Grande Fromage performing on his iPhone his arrangement of Regurgitator’s 90’s classic hit, “Polyester Girl”. We enjoyed performing this arrangement once more, and we hope that you enjoy it, too.

A little something from Queensland Composers

Did you miss out of coming to “Queensland Composers” last week? Well here’s a little something from our performance. Stay tuned as we’ll put showing more highlights from this great concert.

Thank you for coming to Queensland Composers

A big thank you to everyone who came to watch us last Wednesday, at the Queensland Conservatorium, for “Queensland Composers”. It was a lot of fun for us to revisit all of these wonderful works that had been written for Ady, and which brought back so many great memories from the ensemble’s seven years

Remembering Richard Strauss

This year marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of the German composer, Richard Strauss. To celebrate, the Ady Ensemble will be including a song of Strauss’, especially arranged by the ensemble’s Le Grande Fromage, Adrian Head, for the featured soloist in our May concert, Dreamtime & Disco. Along with a new work of Mike

If you’re looking at the 4MBS brochure…

[Update: the good people at 4MBS have assured us here at the Ady Ensemble that the remaining copies of the brochure will be altered accordingly (will this make the original brochure a collector’s item?), and they’ve already changed our details on their website. Thanks to their wonderful people for all of their help!] …for this

Ady @UQ Lunchtime Concert Series was a great success

Thanks to everyone who came to our concert at the University of Queensland today. The performance was well attended, and was well received by staff, students, and the general public alike. Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedules to allow us to annoy you for an hour. Your support and presence at

Thank you!

A big thanks to all of you who came to watch our last concert. It was a lot of fun for us to share our music making with you. Again, a big thanks to our featured composers, Lisa and Tom, for writing us some wonderful things to play. Of course, none of this could have happened

Ady @St Andrew’s: Sunday, 9th of October

Yet another noise making experience at St Andrew’s Uniting Church, cnr of Ann and Creek Streets (for those of you who are too lazy to read the nice photo that I’ve prepared on the left), on the 9th of October (that’s a Sunday for the even lazier), at 11:30am. Michael Forsyth will be joining us

Video of the Davison Quintet at Bribie Island

Just thought that you’d like to all see the performance that we did of this work last weekend. I should point out that the only commercial recording of this work is sadly out of print, which is a shame given the quality of this work, which is a delight to play, and apparently from all

Recital (Ady concert No.1) and BSO Chamber Concert

Last Sunday saw our second and final performance of Davison’s Quintet for trombone and string quartet. Our first performance of this work, three weeks ago, was part of my recital at St Andrews Church, which was itself a component of my Masters of Music degree at the Con. Doing a recital for the first time
